Waistline End Table

The Waistline is an excercise in double mortise and tenon joinery (each apron joins to each leg with two tenons). An elephant could probably stand on this table. Because of the way each shelf is constrained by the frame, there must be room to accomodate seasonal wood movement- hence the center gaps, which are also a fine aesthetic addition. Shelves are floating and removable. Black cherry and white ash. Sized to fit books and magazines for an avid reader who likes to keep everything near the bed, it would also make a hip bar in a tight urban apartment with bottles on top and glasses underneath. L 34 x W 36 x H 36.
